Capricorn Tourism and Outback Queensland Tourism Association are offering great prizes to find the best images along the Tropic of Capricorn.

From the Capricorn Caves to Blackdown Tableland National Park, from the Sapphire Gemfields to Jump-Up Country, from Dinosaur Trackways to Mount Morgan's Gold Mines... Central Queensland is home to some of Australia's most amazing landscapes.

Everyone is invited to take a photo (or send in an existing photo) of any destination along the Tropic of Capricorn (from Yeppoon to Boulia) and be in the running to win some great prizes valued at over $4000. The competition closes on 1 July 2009 and the winning entry will be announced here on 8 July 2009.

Our Judging Panel



The winning entry will be selected by a judging panel made up of the Tropic of Capricorn Mayors, representing local council areas that lie along or adjacent to the Tropic of Capricorn (S 23.5°) from Yeppoon to Boulia.

 


COMPETITION TERMS & CONDITIONS: Entrants must submit the photograph as a digital JPEG file. Images should be a minimum size of 200KB and a maximum size of 4MB; All accepted entries will be displayed in the online gallery on www.DigTheTropic.com.au/capsnaps/. Images must have been photographed by the entrant and must not contain inappropriate content. Images must not be digitally manipulated. By submitting a photograph as part of the competition, entrants agree that Capricorn Tourism and Outback Queensland Tourism can use their photo in promotions and advertising worldwide for 3 years for the purpose of promoting the destination. Any use will be credited to the photographer and will not be passed to third parties. Competition closes 5pm 1 July 2009. The best 20 images as selected by Capricorn Tourism and Outback Queensland Tourism will be reviewed and voted by the panel of Mayors (representing the Council Shires along the Tropic of Capricorn from Yeppoon to Boulia). The winning entry will be announced on this website on 8 July 2009. PRIZE INCLUSIONS: Major Prize (as voted by Mayors) is CANON EOS450D SLR Digital camera with twin lenses kit plus extended warranty (or similar value and style camera) with Dick Smith Electronics PLUS Dig The Tropic Adventure Trip for two people including twin share accommodation, tours (as outlined above), car rental and Greyhound Australia Travel Pass (2000km) for two people. Travel is subject to availability and must be used by 31 December 2009. It is the winner's responsibility to make travel arrangements. Tickets are non transferable, non redeemable for cash and cannot be on-sold to a third party. Please note availability is limited during peak holiday periods such as school holidays.
